Lee Roy Selmon's life is one of football scholarships, family involvement as well as community involvement. First of all, he was raised by Lucious as well as Jessie Selmon on a farm near Eufala in Oklahoma as the youngest of their nine children. Two football. In Tampa the Buccaneers, he was a player for the Buccaneers for nine seasons, and eventually became an all-pro. Also, he began an entrepreneurial career. In 1988, as an account representative at First Florida Bank of Tampa He was a member of the Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. No wonder that in 1982 the Junior Chamber of Commerce named him one of the nation's most outstanding young men. Lee Roy was 6'2" tall and weighed 265lbs when he played college football. The year 1975 was the first time he led the group. In 1993, Roy joined the University of South Fla's athletic department as its associate director. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame by the GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame of 1994 as well as by The Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1995. In 1989, the Oklahoma City Chapter of the National Football Foundation in 1989 awarded the Distinguished American Award to his parents Mr. and Mrs.. Lucious Selmon Sr. Henry Bellmon, the governor of Oklahoma presented it.
